Family, friends, colleagues and local officials gathered on the bank of the Peconic River in Grangebel Park yesterday to dedicate the newly installed fish ladder to the memory of Robert Conklin, credited with successful efforts to protect the alewives’ breeding grounds in the river and ensure their safe passage there each spring.
