Keri, 30, and Jason, 7, were killed when their car was broadsided by a van Saturday morning at the intersection of CR 111 and Oceanview Boulevard Extension.

Keri’s two other children, Maria, 4 and Christopher, 2, were critically injured in the crash. They remain hospitalized at Stony Brook University Medical Center. Maria’s condition is listed as “serious,” and Christopher’s condition is listed as “good,” a hospital spokeswoman said today.

The occupants of the van that collided with the Trinca’s car were transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead, where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

No summonses have been issued and the investigation continues, a Suffolk County Police spokeswoman said this afternoon.

The Trinca family is well known at Riverhead Raceway, where Jason raced go-karts and his father Jay worked on a pit crew.  Friends of the family have organized a number of fundraising initiatives to help Jay deal with funeral costs and medical bills.

There is a fundraiser this evening starting at 6 p.m. at Villa Michelangelo’s, 457 County Road 111, Manorville.

A second fundraiser will be held on Sunday at the AMF Shirley Lanes bowling alley on William Floyd Parkway in Shirley, from 3 to 5 p.m. Another is scheduled for October 27 at Martha Clara Vineyards in Riverhead from 7 until 10 p.m.
