The 38th annual Polish Town Fair got off to a rainy start this morning, but that didn’t stop the festivities.
Nearly all of the vendors remained open through the rain and at least a couple hundred people still turned out this morning. However, that doesn’t compare to the thousands that usually attend the fair.
Ceremonies such as the mock Polish wedding pressed on. A crowd gathered to watch David Ashby, who played the groom, and Meghan Burns, the bride, dance the Polonaise in the pouring rain.
Attendance picked up as the rain dissipated and the skies clear late this afternoon. The polka festival runs until midnight tonight at Polonaise Park with live polka music, dancing, food and drink.
Sunday’s weather forecast is good and the fair will continue tomorrow from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
