A vehicle leaking gasoline in front of the gas pumps at Hess on Route 58 and Ostrander closed the gas station for about 45 minutes Sunday.
RFD quickly contained the gasoline that was leaking from a Lincoln Town Car just before 12 p.m.
The cause of the leak could have been a faulty gasket sealing the filler pipe to the gas tank, said RFD Third Assistant Chief Peter Jackman.
The vehicle was towed from the scene, and the gas station has been reopened.
