Riverhead police and EMS responded to a spate of motor vehicle accidents which all occurred within about one hour Monday afternoon.

Police and EMS crews were called to an MVAs at about 2 p.m. on West Main Street near the Farm Country Kitchen. Two vehicles collided head-on and two people were transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center with minor injuries, according to radio reports. Riverhead and Flanders-Northampton Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded to transport the victims. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Police and EMS were already at the scene of an accident on Sweezy Avenue when the crash occurred on West Main Street.

Minutes after the West Main Street accident, there was another crash at the intersection of Reeves and Roanoke Avenues and then a third at the intersection of Pulaski Street and Route 58.

Two people were injured in the crash on Roanoke Avenue.  Mattituck Fire Department EMS, called in on mutual aid, transported two people to the hospital. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

No one was injured in the accident on Route 58; but an SUV required a tow, according to radio reports.
