The Sonoma Grill East celebrated its grand opening in Riverhead Monday evening with a private party and ribbon-cutting attended by members of the Riverhead Chamber of Commerce, town officials and friends and family of the owners of Main Street’s new eatery.
Sonoma, which is affiliated with another restaurant of the same name in Holbrook, first opened its doors for business about six weeks ago, said partner Adam Subbiondo.
“It’s coming along nicely,” Subbiondo said of the Riverhead location.
With a menu featuring pastas, wraps, specialty sandwiches and “outrageous pizzas,” Sonoma provides a family-friendly, casual dining atmosphere and a moderate price-point, Subbiondo said. Average prices range between $18 and $22, he said.
The restaurant also serves a great weekend brunch, he said.
The fireside lounge offers an opportunity for live acoustic music. Last night, Melanie Morin, accompanied by percussionist Nicky Loiodice, entertained Sonoma’s guests as they sampled a selection of hors d’oeuvres and mingled around the restaurant’s modern bar.
Sonoma Grill East, located at 300 E. Main St., is open Tuesday through Thursday, 4-10 p.m., Friday from 4 p.m. to midnight, Saturday, from 10 a.m. to midnight and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. (Tel. 631-591-3877)
