A 41-year-old Flanders woman was killed in a car accident on County Road 51 in Eastport Sunday afternoon, Suffolk County Police said in a press release last night.

Police said the victim, Blanca Coslaya, was a passenger in a southbound 1990 Toyota Camry yesterday at about 2:45 p.m. when a 2015 Hyundai Tucson, driven by Madeline Keane, 51, of Farmingville, made a left turn in front of the Camry at County Road 111.

Coslaya was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

The driver of the Camry, Rudi Ramirez, 22, of Flanders, was also transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to the police report.

Keane and her two passengers were taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center where they were treated for injuries police said were not life-threatening.

Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives are investigating the crash. Both vehicles were impounded for a safety inspection. Detectives are asking anyone with information about this crash to call the Seventh Squad at 631-852-8752.
