The Suffolk County Legislature holds its regular general meeting in Riverhead today, after a week of holding committee meetings here for the first time in years.

The general meetings open at 9:30 a.m. with presentations and an opportunity for public comment.

Scheduled public hearings begin at 2:30 p.m. Hearings scheduled for today’s meeting include the following:

a law to require dry cleaning businesses to post notification signs about the safety of chemical solvents they use;

a campaign finance reform law to limit campaign contributions from county contractors and public employee unions;

a law to limit nitrogen content in lawn fertilizers;

“Ginger’s Law,” to regulate pet grooming businesses;

a law to further regulate synthetic cannabinoids and synthetic cocaine, to cover “analogues”;

a law that would suspend the red light camera program.
