The Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation is looking for volunteers to help with their “Pick It Up!” beach cleanup campaign.

The group is conducting beach cleanups tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at Roanoke beach in Riverhead.

Other cleanup sites tonight are: Cedar Beach in Mount Sinai, Fire Island National Seashore Wilderness Center and Ponquogue Beach in Hampton Bays

“We’re cleaning up beaches across Long Island to eradicate marine debris, and preserve and protect the marine environment and it’s inhabitants,” the foundation said in a press release.
