Riverhead Town Police have charged four people in connection with an assault and robbery they said took place at a Raynor Avenue home yesterday morning.

Police said they received a 911 call just before 11 a.m. from a man who reported being beaten and robbed at 534 Raynor Avenue. Arriving officers located the victim a short distance away from the house, according to a police press release. The victim was taken by Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance to Peconic Bay Medical Center for treatment of his injuries, which police said were not life-threatening.

After an investigation by detectives, police said they arrested: Dwayne Kyle Harris, 32, of Riverhead, Sheryl Madr, 33, of Flanders, and Michael T. Young, 33, of Riverhead, on charges of assault in the second degree and robbery in the second degree; and Alexander G. Crampe, 39, of Riverhead on charges of assault in the second degree and unlawful possession of marijuana.

The four were held for morning arraignment, according to a press release issued last night.

The Riverhead Town Police Department asks that anyone with information on any suspicious or criminal activity call the department’s Crime Hotline at 631-727-3333. All calls will be kept confidential, police said.
