A Riverhead man was arrested on narcotics charges by the East End Drug Task Force yesterday, Riverhead Town Police said in a press release.

Deantae Jackson, 19, was arrested on three counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree when task force officers executed a search warrant at his home on Melene Avenue yesterday, police said. Jackson was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, according to the release.

The search was the result of ongoing investigations of drug sales and gang activities in eastern Suffolk County and in particular Riverhead, according to the report.

Criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree is a class B felony.
