A Flanders woman has been identified as the person found dead on the shoreline of Hubbard County Park in Hampton Bays Friday afternoon.
Suffolk County Police homicide detectives identified the woman as Kristy Westerlind, 40. Detectives believe that the cause of death was noncriminal in nature and the investigation is continuing, according to a Suffolk police press release.
A fisherman walking on the Flanders Bay beach discovered the body on the shoreline Friday at approximately 3:55 p.m., according to police. Southampton Town Police Department officers responded and contacted the Suffolk County Police Department Homicide Squad.
Detectives ask anyone with information to help identify the victim or the circumstances of her death to contact the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392.
