Second-graders at Roanoke Avenue School got into the holiday spirit by showing generosity to hospitalized children.

To bring some good cheer to children hospitalized in Stony Brook Children’s Hospital the students collected boxes of toys to donate to children at the medical center.

The annual toy drive is spearheaded by second-grade teacher Debra Spinelli. The students in her class made posters, spoke to school staff, their families and friends about offering donations.

They were able to send a box full of gifts to young patients at the hospital.
