The Riverhead Blue Waves had another solid performance last night on their home court, defeating Walt Whitman 58-43.

Riverhead was in total control in the first half, dominating under the basket, and making three-point shots at will. The Waves hit nine three-pointers in the first half. They had the Wildcats on their heels and it showed, with the Waves leading 38-19 at halftime.

The Waves got a bit sloppy in the third quarter. The Wildcats threw everything they could at Riverhead, capitalizing on open-man shots and outscored the Waves 11-10 in the quarter. Riverhead tightened up in the fourth quarter to preserve their lead and nail down the win. Riverhead improved to 7-3 overall and 2-0 in League II.

Cir’rus “CC” Davender had 15 points, including three three-pointers. Quashiem Miller was solid under the basket with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Christian Pace had 11 points and five assists. Tommy Powers hit three three-point shots.
