The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for heavy snow with expected accumulations of four to seven inches on Long Island tonight.
The winter storm warning is in effect from 5 p.m. this evening through 7 a.m. tomorrow morning and also covers New York City, southern Connecticut, northeast New Jersey and most of the Lower Hudson Valley.
“Plan on difficult travel conditions,” the weather service said in a statement. “Significant reductions in visibility are possible.”
