Update 1:42 p.m.: The accident has been cleared and the road has been reopened as of 1:39 p.m.
Two people were injured when a dump truck carrying crushed stone collided with another vehicle and overturned at the intersection of County Road 105 and Main Road at about 8:40 this morning.
The dump truck collided with an eastbound Nissan Pathfinder at the intersection and overturned, spilling its contents on the roadway.
Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported both drivers to Peconic Bay Medical Center, according to Riverhead Town Police.
Route 25 eastbound is closed to traffic between Route 58/Doctors Path and Route 105 while the accident is cleared. Eastbound traffic is being diverted at the Route 58/Route 25 intersection onto either Doctors Path northbound or Route 25 westbound. Traffic on Route 25 westbound is still moving through the intersection.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
Riverhead Fire Department responded to the scene with a heavy rescue unit and fire police patrol to assist with traffic.
