An Aquebogue man who can’t get around himself to look for his missing dog, is asking the public’s help.
Danny Kriedter, 47, a quadriplegic since a workplace accident in 1994, is heartbroken without his constant companion, an adopted rescue dog.
Moe, a two-year old Chihuahua-Jack Russell Terrier mix got out of the house on Broad Avenue early yesterday morning.
“Moe is the only thing that helps him get through the day with his unconditional love and kisses,” Kriedter’s nurse, Alyssa Grudzinski, said in an email.
“It is difficult for Danny to physically look for Moe, so I am hoping that you could help me spread the word to bring Moe back home,” she said.
Moe was last seen at the senior center on Shade Tree Lane in Riverhead. He is shy when meeting new people but very friendly after he warms up, Grudzinski said. He may respond to food, and he also loves his toys, she said.
Kriedter was working as a roofer when he fell from a house on Shelter Island, he said. He suffered a severe spinal cord injury that paralyzed him.
He is offering a $500 reward for his dog’s return.
If you’ve seen Moe, please report it by calling 631-902-4540 or 631-772-2494.
