It was an evening of mixed emotions last Saturday at Stotzky Park, as the Riverhead Blue Wave varsity girls played their neighbors and friends, the Mercy Monarchs, in what would be their last annual softball scrimmage against each another. As always, the teams played a fun-filled seven innings, followed by a group barbecue.

The Blue Waves presented each of the Monarch girls with flowers to show their support as McGann-Mercy prepares to close its doors at the end of this school year.
