A 23-year-old man died in a motorcycle crash on Hubbard Avenue early Friday morning, Riverhead Police announced in a press release.
Police said their preliminary investigation indicates that the 1988 Suzuki motorcycle was westbound on Hubbard Avenue shortly after midnight when it left the roadway in the area of Jackson Street and struck a tree.
Maxwell Tuthill of Riverhead suffered serious injuries in the crash and later died at Peconic Bay Medical Center, according to police.
The motorcycle was impounded for a safety check, police said.
