If only one percent more Americans donated blood, blood shortages would disappear according to the American Heart Association. It’s a simple, quick and safe way to help members of the community.
The Riverhead community blood drive will take place Tuesday, Sept. 18 at the Riverhead Fire Department headquarters on Roanoke Avenue.
Walk-ins are always welcome or you can call Lauren Reichel at 631-369-9136 to make an appointment.
Every donor will receive a coupon for a free McDonalds large sandwich with any purchase.
Eligibility Criteria:
- ID with signature or photo
- Minimum weight 110 pounds
- Age 16 – 75 (16-year-olds must have parental permission. People age 76 and over need a doctor’s note)
- Eat well (low fat) and drink fluids
- No tattoos within the past 12 months
The blood drive will take place from 1 to 7 p.m. Riverhead Fire Department Headquarters is located at 540 Roanoke Avenue, in Riverhead
