Lupton and Luce Insurance will host its fifth annual trike-a-thon fundraiser for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital on Sept. 22 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Children of all ages are welcome to participate.
Bring your bike, trike or riding toy and a helmet to ride around the “track.” Family, friends and neighbors can sponsor participants so that each lap they ride raises more money for St. Jude’s.

According to St. Jude’s website,
- pediatric cancer is diagnosed each year in about 175,000 children ages 14 and under worldwide.
- pediatric cancer is the leading cause of death by disease past infancy for U.S. children. However, thanks to better therapies, more than 80% of U.S. childhood cancer patients now become long-term survivors.
- Survival rates can vary depending on the type of cancer.
- About 420,000 childhood cancer survivors live in the U.S., with many more around the world.
No family ever pays for health care at St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Even associated costs like housing, travel and food are completely covered by the hospital. Donations from events like the trike-a thon and other fundraisers enable the hospital to live up to its belief that no family should have to worry about anything other than helping their child to beat pediatric cancer.
