(Updated: 9:35 a.m.) A shooting in the Calverton Hills condominium community injured a 23-year-old Mattituck man Sunday afternoon.
Suffolk Police said the man’s injuries were not life-threatening.
He was shot while in a parking lot at Calverton Hills at approximately 3:45 p.m. Sunday, police said. The shooting was not random, police said.
He was driven to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead in a private vehicle, police said.
Police are investigating the incident and did not release any additional information. They did not say whether any arrests had been made or whether there are any suspects.
There will be extra security this morning at Riverhead High School in light of yesterday’s incident, principal Dr. Charles Regan said in a robocall to parents this morning.
