A 24-year-old Medford man was killed in a single-car crash in Manorville late last night, Riverhead Police announced in a press release this morning.
Police said Matthew A. Tosques Jr. was operating his 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix southbound on Schultz Road just before 11:30 p.m. Monday when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road. The vehicle left the roadway, stuck a telephone pole and a tree before coming to rest back in the roadway, police said.
Tosques was transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead, where he succumbed to his injuries, according to the press release.
The vehicle was impounded for safety checks, police said.
