Riverhead middle school, high school and Pulaski Street Elementary School students in the Scientific Computing Program visited Brookhaven National Lab March 27 to see how computing skills can be applied in the world.
Students on the tour, led by educational programs administrator Scott Bronson, discussed internship opportunities at the lab and visited the Northeast Solar Energy Resource Center and the National Synchrotron Light Source II.
As part of the district program, the students work with BNL technology architect David Biersach on a weekly basis to improve their scientific computing skills.
