A large crowd turned out to watch the Jamesport Fire Department’s 64th annual parade last night on Main Road in Jamesport.
More than a dozen fire departments and EMS agencies participated in the parade, along with Riverhead Town Police, elected officials and community organizations.
The parade takes place in the middle of the weeklong carnival hosted by the fire department on the grounds of the George Young Community Center on South Jamesport Avenue. The carnival features midway games, games of chance and lots of rides to thrill kids of all ages. It continues through Saturday evening, when the fire department will present a free fireworks display.
