Riverhead Police detectives are investigating a suspected attempted arson at an Aquebogue marina Sunday night.

Police were called to Lighthouse Marina on Meeting House Creek Road in Aquebogue at about 8 p.m. Sunday on the report of a “suspicious explosion” there, according to a press release issued late Monday night.

The Suffolk County Police Department is assisting with the investigation, police said in the press release.

Police did not release any other information about the incident but said the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with any information regarding this incident can contact the Riverhead Police Department at (631) 727-4500, police said.
