St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Riverhead is collecting donations to send overseas to support Ukraine’s people in their fight against Russian invasion.

Donations can be dropped off at the church, located at 820 Pond View Road off of Roanoke Avenue, Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

The church is accepting medicines and hygiene products, including compression bandages, tourniquets, tactical first aid kits, hemostatic agents (celox or similar), bandages, gauzes, antiseptics, anti-burn gels (Neosporin), nasopharyngeal airways (28-30FR), pain killers (Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Advil), wet wipes, Pampers, tampons and female hygiene items.

The church is also accepting donations of men’s clothing including tactical boots, winter hats, socks, thermal underwear, undergarments, sweaters and sweatshirts, and donations for the military’s needs including sleeping bags, yoga mats, tactical knee and elbow pads, flashlights, solar power banks, tactical gloves, tactical backpacks and one-liter Thermos bottles.

Food donation items accepted include dry soup packets, ramen noodles, energy bars and snack bars, tea, hot chocolate packets, instant coffee and baby formulas.
