Splish Splash in Calverton will open for the 2022 summer season on Saturday, with a new tube ride and cashless service throughout the park.

According to a Splish Splash press release, the park has reimagined the “Abyss” water tube ride as a new ride called “Hyperlight” with new lights and sounds. The ride, like “Abyss, will offer the option of a single or double tube.

“Hyperlight brings something totally new and totally different to the Splish Splash experience,” says General Manager Mike Bengtson. “Combining the new slide with improvements to our food, retail and special events lineup, Splish Splash guests will have more ways to play than ever before.”

Splish Splash will also only accept credit, debit and prepaid cards or secure mobile payments starting this season. The change allows for a smoother and safer experience for guests, Splish Splash officials said in a press release. The park will accept mobile payments from Apple Pay and Google Pay and all major credit and prepaid debit cards including MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover.

Guests that have cash can use kiosks throughout the park to convert up to $500 cash onto a prepaid card for no fee. The prepaid card can be used to purchase tickets and frequent stores and stands throughout the park, and used free of fees outside the park anywhere cards are accepted.

“This season, we decided to go cashless to improve our guests’ experience when they come for a day of family fun at Splish Splash,” General Manager Mike Bengtson said. “We have added simple, easy to use Cash to Card Kiosks throughout the park to provide options for those that prefer to use cash when they visit. Not having to handle cash will speed up Splish Splash operations, especially in food and retail shops.”

This season will mark the return of the park’s fried chicken restaurant called the “Chicken Coop.” Additionally, a new stack stand, Hyper Bites, will debut at the end of Hyperlight offering fried Oreos,
funnel cakes, cotton candy, popcorn and more. The season will also see the opening of new funnel cake stand with toppings and a redesigned retail location at the front of the park, the Long Island Surf & Supply.

Splish Splash is also currently running a park opening promotion through the next few weeks that reduces the price of admission from $69.99 per day to $39.99 per day through June 12.
