A Stop-DWI enforcement during the Labor Day weekend resulted in eight arrests at sobriety checkpoints and during increased patrols by the Riverhead Town Police Department, police said in a press release this morning.

Five of the arrests were made at checkpoints, two arrests were made during patrols and one arrest was made following a motor vehicle crash, police said.

Tiffany Losee, 47, of Riverhead was charged with DWI following a single-car crash into a utility pole on Saturday, police said. Police did not provide the time or location of the crash.

According to the police report, arrested on DWI charges during increased patrols were: Jennifer Nappi, 53, of Aquebogue, on Saturday, and Erik B. Vigfusson, 40, of Port Jefferson, on Monday.

Arrested at a checkpoint on Sound Avenue and West Lane Saturday were: Lazaro S. Agopianis, 33, of Mattituck, who was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, police said, and Salvatore G. Bartolo, 43, of Sound Beach. Police said Bartolo’s vehicle was seized per the Suffolk County seizure law due to his for prior DWI conviction in the State of Florida.

Police said two arrests were made at a checkpoint on East Main Street, west of Elton Street.

Edgar Vasquez-Herrera, 31, of Riverhead was arrested on Saturday and Jose Chamale Puluc, 24, of Mattituck was arrested on Friday. Both men were charged with Driving While Intoxicated, police said.

One arrest was made Sunday at a checkpoint on Peconic Avenue: Alexander W. Repenning, 28, of Port Jefferson, who was charged with DWI.

Police said all of the above individuals were processed at police headquarters and held for arraignment in Riverhead Town Justice Court.
