The Riverhead Faculty and Community theater will present its youth-on-stage production of Annie Jr. this weekend.
Performances are on Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m at the Riverhead High School auditorium. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and can be purchased at www.rfct1985.com.
The production is a kids version of the 1977 Broadway musical comedy based on the Little Orphan Annie comic strip. Set in December, 1933, the story follows a young orphan, Annie, who lives in an orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. Annie is selected to spend Christmas with the billionaire Oliver Warbucks, who aids Annie in her search for her birth parents. Meanwhile, Hannigan hatches a plan to claim the reward Warbucks is offering to anyone who finds Annie’s parents.
RFCT’s production stars Lily Beatrice Trudden as Annie, Morgan DeVerna as Miss Hannigan, Cameron Hipp as Oliver Warbucks, Julia DiGirolamo as Grace Farrell, Anderson Hipp as Rooster Hannigan, Guiliana Catarelli as Lily St. Regis and Jace Young as Sandy.
