Santa Claus has arrived.

The jolly old elf and his missus came to town in style this afternoon, guests of honor at the 70th Annual Riverhead Lions Club Christmas parade on Main Street.

People lined the sidewalks to watch the the parade as marchers, fire trucks, classic cars and antique tractors made their way down Main Street.

When the parade ended, spectators made their way to the riverfront by way of the town square, stopping off for a cup of free hot cocoa before warming at the bonfire or getting in line outside Santa’s gingerbread house for a chance to share their Christmas wishes.

Kids of all ages got to enter the gingerbread house for a chat and photos with Santa.

Christmas music was supplied by DJ Phil — with Tornado Jones at the sound board.

The event was sponsored by Riverhead Lions Club, Riverhead Business Improvement District Management Association and the Town of Riverhead.
