Joan F. Au of Jamesport died on Feb. 21, 2023 at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead. She was 87 years old.
She was born on May 26, 1935 in Brooklyn to Edward and Catherine (Miller) Renz. She attended Richmond Hill High School in Queens.
She worked as a public relations specialist for NY Telephone and co-owned CJ Enterprises. She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish, Rotary, the Telephone Pioneers and Marion Council Columbiettes. She was an active community volunteer, was active in local politics and enjoyed spending time with friends and family and local politics.
She was predeceased by her husband Charles. She is survived by her brothers, Edward Renz of Northport and John (Barbara) Emmerich of Pennsylvania, and by a sister-in-law, Anne Fatone
The family will receive visitors on Friday, Feb. 24 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Coster-Heppner Funeral Home, 336 Marcy Avenue, Riverhead. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, Feb. 25 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Mattituck. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
