It was a perfect summer evening for a perennial summer favorite: the Jamesport Fire Department’s annual parade.
Throngs of people gathered along Main Road to watch fire departments from around the region, joined by EMS, elected officials and community organizations, march down Main Road from Washington Avenue to Jamesport Fire Department headquarters on Manor Lane.
The parade takes place in the middle of the weeklong carnival hosted by the Jamesport Fire Department on the grounds of the George Young Community Center on South Jamesport Avenue. The carnival features midway games, games of chance and rides to thrill kids of all ages. It continues through Saturday evening, when the fire department will present a free fireworks display.
