UPDATED-2:35 p.m.: Police have identified the man found deceased in a wooded area north of West Main Street this morning as Cuah Temoc Trinidad, age 44, of Riverhead.

A deceased man was found in the woods north of West Main Street in the vicinity of Weeping Willow Park early this morning, Riverhead Police said in a press release this afternoon.

Police received a 911 call just before 7 a.m. today reporting an unconscious male in the wooded area at that location, across the road from 981 West Main Street, according to the police report.

Upon arrival, patrol officers and Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps EMTs determined the man was deceased. The body was found about one-quarter mile into the woods, RVAC Chief James Alfano said.

Riverhead Police detectives and a physician assistant from the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that the cause of death appears to have been non-criminal in nature, police said in the release. The death also appears not related to the recent colder temperatures, police said.

The deceased was removed to the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office. The name and the description of the deceased man is being pending notification of next of kin, police said.
