Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the death of a man in Jamesport late Monday night.

Riverhead Town Police officers responded to a 911 call at 448 Herricks Lane, at 11:43 p.m., Suffolk Police said.

Responding officers found Conrad Gowan, 36, with “a sharp force injury” inside a residence on the property, according to the police report. Gowan was a resident of the home, police said. He was transported by Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential, police said.
