Early voting in the 2024 presidential primary in New York begins on Saturday and continues through March 30.
New York’s presidential primary election is Tuesday, April 2.
President Joe Biden, the Democratic incumbent and former President Donald Trump, the Republican challenger, have each already secured more than the required number of delegates to clinch their parties’ nominations.
New York’s ballots in both party primaries will display the names of additional candidates who ended their campaigns after the state’s filing deadlines: Marianne Williamson and Dean Phillips on the Democratic ballot; and Vivek Ramaswamy, Chris Christie and Nikki Haley on the Republican ballot.
Early voting in the presidential primary will take place in-person at Riverhead Town Hall, 4 West Second Street on the lower level. (See dates and times below.)
There are a total of 20 early voting locations in Suffolk County for the presidential primary election, including Southold Town Recreation Center, 970 Peconic Lane, Peconic. See the complete list on the Suffolk County Board of Elections website.
Eligible primary voters (voters registered in the party holding the primary election as of Feb. 14) may vote at any one of the early voting locations in Suffolk. March 23 is the new voter registration deadline to be eligible to vote in the 2024 presidential primary. More information is available at the State Board of Elections website.
Early voting times at each location are as follows:

Voters casting ballots on primary day must do so at their regular polling places. Check your polling place location.
New York’s party primary election for all other offices — federal, state and local — takes place June 25. (New voter registration deadline: June 15.) Early voting in the June 25 primary will take place June 15-June 23. Locations and times for early voting in that election have not yet been announced by the county board of elections.
The general election takes place Nov. 5. (New voter registration deadline: Oct. 26.) Early voting in the general election will take place Oct. 26-Nov. 3. Locations and times for early voting in that election have not yet been announced by the county board of elections.
New York voters may vote by mail. Interested persons must apply for an early mail ballot. Voters may apply for the ballot using an online portal; or by downloading, completing and mailing the application to the Suffolk County Board of Elections at P.O. Box 700, Yaphank NY 11980-0700; or in-person at the Suffolk County Board of Elections office located at 700 Yaphank Avenue, Yaphank NY 11980.
