Riverhead Police detectives are investigating shots fired in the early morning hours of April 17 in the area of Oakland Drive South in Riverhead.
Patrol officers responded yesterday morning to a 911 call at 11:37 a.m. reporting a vehicle damaged by what appeared to be gunshot, according to a Riverhead Police Department press release issued last night.
Patrol officers located the damaged vehicle. Detectives called to investigate determined that “numerous gunshots were fired in the early morning hours” of April 17, according to the report.
There were no reports of injuries, police said.
Police are asking anyone with information regarding the incident to call Riverhead Police at 631-727-4500. All calls will be kept confidential, police said.
