Hallockville Museum Farm hosted its 43rd Annual Country Fair this weekend and despite the soggy late September weather, visitors flocked to the historic Hallockville homestead site to experience rural life in bygone eras and have some good old-fashioned fun.
The fair featured demonstrations, music, food, games and exhibits on the grounds of Hallockville and the Long Island Antique Power Association.
Visitors watched a blacksmith forge tools, a colonial cooking demonstrations, folk arts demonstrations, and carpenters working at a traditional post-and-beam construction. They experienced the 3rd NY Regiment Revolutionary War re-enactors’ encampment, a horse-mounted drill team and took tours of the historic homes on the Hallockville farm. Activities included a tractor pulls, a petting zoo, potato sack races, a tug of war and pony rides.
