Riverhead Police reported arresting 18 people on 22 criminal charges between Sunday, Dec. 8 and Saturday, Dec. 14. Among the charges filed were one robbery charge, one criminal possession of stolen property charge, three criminal possession of a controlled substance charges, two DWI charges, six petit larceny charges, one grand larceny charges, one stalking charge, two criminal contempt charges and six charges related to outstanding warrants.
Police reported a total of 484 incidents during the the week of Dec. 8, 2024. Among them:
Sunday, Dec. 8
12:18 a.m. Disturbance, Heroes Way, Riverhead. Police report a noise complaint.
3:29 a.m. Driving Under the Influence, Walmart, Old Country Road, Riverhead. Herbert Nij, 34, of Guatemala City, Guatemala, was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated and transported for processing.
9:39 a.m. Arrest for Prior Reported Incident, Riverhead Police Department, Howell Avenue, Riverhead. A detective reports arresting a person.
10:39 a.m. Arrest for Prior Reported Incident, Riverhead Town Hall, Howell Avenue, Riverhead. Arrest made for a prior larceny incident.
Raymond Mojica, 30, of Riverhead, was arrested on two charges of petit larceny (prior incidents) and one charge of robbery in an incident that occurred on Nov. 6.
2:35 p.m. Suspicious Person, Roanoke Avenue, Riverhead. A person was arrested. The arrest charge was not reported.
3:19 p.m. Grand Larceny, Osborn Avenue, Riverhead.
3:50 p.m. Town Code Violation, Edwards Avenue and Village Green South, Calverton.
4:07 p.m. Town Code Violation, LIRR – Riverhead Railroad Station, Railroad Avenue, Riverhead. Police report a town code violation.
4:51 p.m. Fraud, Hubbard Avenue, Riverhead.
7:56 p.m. Town Code Violation, LIRR – Riverhead Railroad Station, Railroad Avenue, Riverhead. Summons issued.
Monday, Dec. 9
2:08 a.m. Driving Under the Influence, East Main Street, Riverhead. Jose Nunez Nunez, 38, of East Quogue, was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated and a charge of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, and was held for arraignment in the morning.
9:27 a.m. Burglary, Main Road, Riverhead.
12:38 p.m. Harassment, Suffolk County Cooperative Extension, Griffing Avenue, Riverhead. Harassment reported. RIchard Valentin, 36, was arrested on a charge of stalking. On Dec. 11, he was charged with criminal contempt.
5:30 p.m. Vehicle Theft, Middle Country Road, Calverton. Vehicle gone prior to police arrival.
6:47 p.m. Stolen Vehicle, Heroes Way, Riverhead. A stolen vehicle was reported.
7:02 p.m. Disturbance, 7-Eleven, Old Country Road, Riverhead.
10:10 p.m. Stolen Vehicle Recovered, Moet Drive and Gina Lane, Riverhead. Police recovered a stolen vehicle.
Tuesday, Dec. 10
1:13 a.m. Disturbance, 7-Eleven, Old Country Road, Riverhead. Police report a disturbance.
8:57 a.m. Warrant Investigation, Howell Avenue, Riverhead. Keith Lamb, 37, of Commack, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
10:09 a.m. Petit Larceny, Lidl, Old Country Road, Riverhead.
10:30 a.m. Stolen Vehicle Recovered, Middle Road, Riverhead. A recovered stolen vehicle was impounded for safekeeping.
11:00 a.m. Confiscated Property, East Main Street, Riverhead. Detective reports recovering stolen property related to a previous case. Charles Pettaway, 36, of Amityville was arrested on a charge of criminal possession of stolen property. He was also charged with grand larceny.
11:26 a.m. Warrant Investigation, Riverhead Town Hall, Howell Avenue, Riverhead. William Luna-Santos, 40, of Guatemala, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
11:38 a.m. Fraud, Elton Street, Riverhead. A report of fraud has been documented.
12:33 p.m. Warrant Investigation, Howell Avenue, Riverhead. Collin Woodley, 67, of Medford, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
