The Riverhead NJROTC participated in a drill meet at Mattituck High School on Dec. 21, hosted by the Southold, Mattituck and Greenport battalion. Riverhead competed against approximately 12 other schools from the area.
Riverhead placed third overall in the meet, just one point behind the second-place finisher.
Riverhead secured third place in physical fitness, second place in personal inspection, freshman color guard and unarmed platoon events. Riverhead achieved first place in both the armed platoon and unarmed exhibition categories.
Thanks to its achievements at the Dec. 21 drill meet, Riverhead is now eligible to compete in the Area 2 drill meet in Colts Neck, New Jersey.
