Riverhead Police reported arresting 16 people, including one juvenile, on 19 criminal charges from Sunday, Jan. 5 through Saturday, Jan. 11. Among the charges filed against adults arrested were one charge of making threats of mass harm, one grand larceny charge, two charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance, one driving while intoxicated charge, seven petit larceny charges, two charges of aggravated unlicensed operation, two town code violations,  one harassment charge and one arrest on an outstanding bench warrant. The charge against the juvenile was not disclosed. 

 A total of 485 incidents were reported by Riverhead Town Police for the week. Below is an excerpt of reported incidents and all reported arrests for this period. A criminal charge is an accusation. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

Sunday, Jan. 5

2:25 a.m. Larceny – Petit Larceny, Blackberry Commons, Riverhead. A person entered an unlocked vehicle and removed cash and numerous assorted gift cards.

11:35 a.m. Town Code Violation, Sweezy Avenue and Pulaski Street, Riverhead. Marvin Choy Nij, 39, of Riverhead, was arrested for an unspecified town code violation and released on a desk appearance tickeet.

11:59 a.m. Criminal Mischief, 20th Street, Wading River. A person damaged the complainant’s property.

2:23 p.m. Petit Larceny, Old Country Road, Riverhead. Milvia Ramirez Catalan, 35, was arrested for petit larceny.

7:04 p.m. Petit Larceny, Shade Tree Lane, Riverhead. Police report issued a MV78B for the complainant.

10:10 p.m. Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Pulaski Street, Riverhead. Steven Morrow, 29, of Riverhead was arrested on a charge of aggravated unlicensed operation and was released after processing.

Monday, Jan. 6

10:46 a.m. Arrest for Prior Reported Incident, Riverhead Police Department, Howell Avenue, Riverhead. Raymond Mojica, 30, of Medford, was arrested on a charge of petit larceny.

5:52 p.m. Petit Larceny, West Main Street, Riverhead.

7:39 p.m. Motor Vehicle Accident, Sound Avenue, Riverhead. Joshua Leonard, 41, of Sag Harbor, was arrested for driving while intoxicated following a crash on Sound Avenue.

8:49 p.m. Petit Larceny, Burlington, Old Country Road, Riverhead. A petit larceny was reported.

10:02 p.m. Motor Vehicle Stop, Osborn Avenue, Riverhead. Tanya Brown, 40, of Middle Island, was arrested for vehicle and traffic law violations.

Tuesday, Jan. 7

11:42 a.m. Property Lost or Stolen, Old Farm Road, Riverhead. A license plate was removed from a vehicle.

6:24 p.m. Domestic Incident, Maple Road, Calverton. Incident documented.

10:23 p.m. Grand Larceny, Old Country Road, Riverhead. Mark Carter, 25, of Riverhead, was arrested for grand larceny.

10:54 p.m. Harassment, Herricks Lane, Jamesport. A person was sending harassing texts.

Wednesday, Jan. 8

12:10 a.m. Harassment, Old Country Road, Riverhead. Mark Carter, 25, of West Islip was arrested for harassment.

9:50 a.m. Arrest for Prior Reported Incident, Riverhead Town Police Department, Howell Avenue, Riverhead. A person was arrested on an unspecified prior reported incident. No further information was provided.

1:09 p.m. Town Code Violation, K-Ban Inc, East Main Street, Riverhead.

3:34 p.m. Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, Peconic Avenue, Riverhead. James Williams, 59, of Hempstead, was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance and turned over to Nassau County Police Department.

3:43 p.m. Disturbance, Walmart, Old Country Road, Riverhead.

4:20 p.m. Fraud, Pintail Court, Riverhead.

5:30 p.m. Arrest for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, Peconic Avenue, Riverhead. Frank Governale, 46, of St. James, was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance and was processed and released on a desk appearance ticket.

6:09 p.m. Grand Larceny, Tanger Outlets, West Main Street, Riverhead. Incident documented.

7:56 p.m. Criminal Mischief, Peconic Bay Medical Center, Heroes Way, Riverhead.

8:16 p.m. Criminal Mischief, Sound Avenue, Calverton.

8:19 p.m. Petit Larceny, Old Country Road, Riverhead.

9:24 p.m. Petit Larceny, Howell Avenue, Riverhead. Tanya Brown, 40, was arrested on a charge of petit larceny.

Thursday, Jan. 9

8:34 a.m. Town Code Violation, 118 East Main Street, Riverhead. Brian Miranda was issued a summons for public urination.

10:15 a.m. Arrest for Prior Reported Incident, Riverhead Police Department, Howell Avenue, Riverhead. Maria Sinchi, 24, of Queens, was arrested on two charges of petit larceny.

11:28 a.m. Petit Larceny, Target, Old Country Road, Riverhead.

12:45 p.m. Larceny, Walmart, Old Country Road, Riverhead. Police officer responded to a larceny call.

4:27 p.m. Warrant Investigation, Osborn Avenue and Lincoln Street, Riverhead. Omar Chavac Bor, 20, was arrested on a bench warrant.

6:38 p.m. Petit Larceny, Peconic Bay Medical Center, Heroes Way, Riverhead. A larceny occurred at the location.
