The Riverhead Blue Waves girls varsity basketball team fell to the Longwood Lions Thursday night at home, 60-33.
The Waves tried to battle back, but were never able to recover from a lopsided first quarter that ended with Riverhead trailing 20-3.
Logan Pilon led Riverhead in points scored with 14, followed by Kyleigh Lennon with 8 and Brooke Andresen with 6.
Riverhead, 3-5 in League I and 7-5 overall) next travels to Brentwood, which is at the top of League I with a 6-0 league record and is 12-2 overall. The matchup is set for Tuesday at 4 p.m.
