Riverhead Police blotter: Week of Jan. 19, 2025

Riverhead Police reported arresting 19 people on 38 criminal charges from Sunday, Jan. 19  through Saturday, Jan. 25. Among the charges filed against adults arrested were driving while intoxicated, driving while ability impaired by drugs, grand larceny, burglary, false personation, possession of a forged instrument, criminal possession of stolen property, petit larceny,  criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal trespass, town code violations and  six arrests on outstanding bench warrants. 

A criminal charge is an accusation. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

A total of 419 incidents were reported by Riverhead Town Police for the week. Below is an excerpt of reported incidents and all reported arrests for this period.

Sunday, Jan. 19

9:23 a.m. Town Code Violation, Long Island Rail Road – Riverhead Railroad Station, Railroad Avenue, Riverhead. Incident documented.

10:38 a.m. Town Code Violation, Long Island Rail Road – Riverhead Railroad Station, Railroad Avenue, Riverhead. Vincent Wilson, 59, of Southampton was arrested for an unspecified town code violation.

11:04 a.m. Warrant Investigation, Long Island Rail Road – Riverhead Railroad Station, Railroad Avenue, Riverhead. Vincent Wilson, 59, of Southampton was arrested on a Riverhead Justice Court warrant.e warrant.

11:40 a.m. Petit Larceny, TJ Maxx, 1791 Old Country Road, Riverhead. Melissa Kust, 43, of Riverhead was arrested for petit larceny.

12:02 p.m. Petit Larceny, Five Below, 1785 Old Country Road, Riverhead. Melissa Kust, 43, of Riverhead was arrested for petit larceny. Kust was also subsequently charged with five counts of petit larceny in prior reported incidents.

1:35 p.m. Town Code Violation, 703 East Main Street, Riverhead. Fausto Anastacio, 55, was arrested for an unspecified town code violation.

1:46 p.m. Grand Larceny, BJ’s Wholesale Club gas station, 841 Old Country Road, Riverhead. A woman reported an unknown person(s) used a credit card to make a purchase; the credit card was recovered.

2:51 p.m. Town Code Violation, Marcy Avenue, Riverhead. Salvador Perez, 20, of Riverhead was arrested for an unspecified town code violation.

3:30 p.m. Petit Larceny, West Main Street, Riverhead. A police officer reported a prior larceny.

No time or location reported. Leonel Hernandez Reyes, 52, of Riverhead, was arrested on a charge of Driving While Intoxicated.

10:07 p.m. Disturbance, Timothy Hill Ranch, 2767 Sound Avenue, Riverhead. Incident documented.

Monday, Jan. 20

8:47 a.m. Warrant Investigation, 210 East Main Street, Riverhead. Sean Glogg, 26, of Riverhead, was arrested on an outstanding Riverhead Justice Court warrant.

9:04 a.m. Town Code Violation, 210 East Main Street, Riverhead. Sean Glogg, 26, of Riverhead, was arrested on an unspecified town code violation.

9:34 a.m. Vehicle and Traffic Law Violations, 7-Eleven, 245 West Main Street, Riverhead. Shakyra Nash, 31, was arrested on a charge of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

12:04 p.m. Warrant Investigation. 28 Lincoln St., Riverhead. Sherry Nucci, 44, of Brooklyn was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Tuesday, Jan. 21

7:28 a.m. Investigation Miscellaneous, Segal Avenue, Riverhead. An unknown person rummaged through an unlocked vehicle, and unknown items were removed.

8:29 a.m. Stolen Vehicle, 829 East Main Street, Riverhead. Investigation referred to the detective division.

9:50 a.m. Property Lost or Stolen, Roanoke Avenue, Riverhead. A New York State trailer license plate was lost or stolen.

10:39 a.m. Arrest for Prior Reported Incident, Riverhead Police Department, Howell Avenue, Riverhead. David Cullington, 40 of Ridge was arrested for petit larceny.

10:57 a.m. Identity Theft, Maple Avenue, Riverhead. A complainant reported being scammed out of $3,020.

11:12 a.m. Warrant Investigation, Riverhead Town Hall, Howell Avenue, Riverhead. Gina Lewis, 40, of Riverhead, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

12:27 p.m. Property Lost or Stolen, New York State Department of Motor Vehicles Office, Old Country Road, Riverhead. Property was reported lost or stolen.

3:28 p.m. Stolen Vehicle, Commerce Drive, Riverhead. A vehicle was reported stolen. Juan Felix Sebastian, 22, of Riverhead, was arrested on a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

5:02 p.m. Disturbance, Best Market, Old Country Road, Riverhead. A disturbance was reported.

6:02 p.m. Grand Larceny, Tanger Outlets, 1770 West Main Street, Riverhead. A grand larceny investigation is underway.

Wednesday, Jan. 22

7:19 a.m. Town Code Violation, 802 East Main Street, Riverhead. Christopher Marczewski, 45, of Riverhead, was arrested for an unspecified town code violation. At police headquarters he was subsequently charged in prior reported incidents, including one count of possession of a forged instrument, one count of burglary, and one count of grand larceny. He was also charged with two counts of false personation, one count of criminal possession of stolen property, and an additional town code violation and was also arrested on an outstanding warrant.

9:15 a.m. Petit Larceny, Peconic Bay Medical Center, 1 Heroes Way, Riverhead. A jacket was stolen.

1:46 p.m. Grand Larceny, Best Buy, 1440 Old Country Road, Riverhead. A grand larceny occurred at the location.

9:47 p.m. Drug / Narcotic Offenses, Riverhead Police Headquarters, 210 Howell Avenue, Riverhead. Vincent Accardo, was arrested for driving while ability impaired by drugs and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

No time or location reported. Lorenzo Ajcuc, 58, of Riverhead, was arrested on two outstanding warrants.

Thursday, Jan. 23

8:07 a.m. Town Code Violation, 140 Griffing Avenue, Riverhead.

8:23 a.m. Town Code Violation, 141 East Main Street, Riverhead.

12:16 p.m. Town Code Violation, LIRR – Riverhead Railroad Station, Railroad Avenue, Riverhead. James Moore, 56, of Middle Island, was arrested for a town code violation.

12:51 p.m. Criminal Mischief, Stotzky Memorial Park, 55 Columbus Avenue, Riverhead.

1:58 p.m. Incident Auto, Elton Street and East Main Street, Riverhead. Christina Kamaiko, 47, of Greenport was arrested on a charge of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

1:20 a.m. Criminal Trespass, Stotzky Memorial Park, 55 Columbus Avenue, Riverhead. Sean Glogg, 26, of Commack, was arrested on a charge of criminal trespass.

11:07 a.m. Harassment, Northville Turnpike, Riverhead. Incident reported.

Saturday, Jan. 25

8:36 a.m. Town Code Violation, Hulse Avenue, Wading River.

8:45 a.m. Town Code Violation, Old Country Road and Osborn Avenue, Riverhead.

1:18 p.m. Fraud, BJ’s Wholesale Club, 607 Old Country Road, Riverhead. Incident documented for bank purposes.

5:41 p.m. Property Lost or Stolen, Dunkin Donuts, Old Country Road, Riverhead. Police reported property lost or stolen.

8:00 p.m. Disturbance, Riverview Lofts, 221 East Main Street, Riverhead.

9:06 p.m. Town Code Violation, Peconic Crossing Apartments, West Main Street, Riverhead. Warning issued for smoking in a zero tolerance zone.
