Riverhead Police blotter: Week of Jan. 26, 2025

Riverhead Police reported arresting 16 people on 22 criminal charges from Sunday, Jan. 26  through Saturday, Feb. 1. Among the charges filed against adults arrested were driving while intoxicated, petit larceny, criminal contempt, town code violations and three arrests on outstanding bench warrants. 

A criminal charge is an accusation. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

 A total of 468 incidents were reported by Riverhead Town Police for the week. Below is an excerpt of reported incidents and all reported arrests for this period.

Sunday, Jan. 26

8:21 a.m. Driving Under the Influence, Best Market, Old Country Road, Riverhead. Zachary Haan, 35, of Calverton, was charged with driving while intoxicated by alcohol and drugs.

11:14 a.m. Town Code Violation, Peconic Riverfront Park, Heidi Behr Way, Riverhead. Adrew Mulligan, 48, of Riverhead, was arrested for a town code violation. The violation was not specified in the report.

1:57 p.m. Town Code Violation, Lincoln Street and Osborn Avenue, Riverhead. Kevin Gerardi, 54, of Riverhead, was arrested for a town code violation. The violation was not specified in the report.

2:43 p.m. Warrant Investigation, Marcy Avenue, Riverhead. Gabrielle Aquino, 24, of Riverhead was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

6:43 p.m. Town Code Violation, Restaurant Depot, Old Country Road, Riverhead. Town Code Summons issued for violation of Riverhead Town Code 257-3 (peddling or soliciting without a license.)

9:03 p.m. Town Code Violation, Griffing Avenue and West Main Street, Riverhead. Town code summons issued. The violation was not specified in the report.

Monday, Jan. 27

10:02 a.m. Town Code Violation, Long Island Rail Road Station, Railroad Avenue, Riverhead. Nelson McGee, 58, of Brentwood, was arrested for public urination in violation of Town Code §247-3 and released after processing.

12:00 p.m. Larceny, Tanger Outlets, 1770 West Main Street, Riverhead.

12:33 p.m. Town Code Violation, Railroad Avenue, Riverhead. Summons issued. The violation was not specified in the report.

3:36 p.m. Petit Larceny, Target, 1150 Old Country Road, Riverhead. Melissa Kust, 43, of Riverhead, was arrested on two charges of petit larceny. She was subsequently arrested at police headquarters on two outstanding justice court warrants.

5:08 p.m. Criminal Mischief, 155 Railroad Avenue, Riverhead.

Tuesday, Jan. 28

8:17 a.m. Property Lost or Stolen, Riverhead Police Department, 210 Howell Avenue, Riverhead. Two license plates reported lost or stolen.

2:53 p.m. Larceny, Target, 1150 Old Country Road, Riverhead. Christopher Javitz, 41, of Shirley, was arrested for petit larceny.

4:00 p.m. Petit Larceny, Home Depot, 1550 Old Country Road, Riverhead.

No time or location reported. James Harris, 79, of Riverhead, was charged with driving while intoxicated.

7:45 p.m. Petit Larceny, Sweezy Avenue, Riverhead.

Wednesday, Jan. 29

2:29 a.m. Stolen Vehicle, Residence Inn Calverton, Old Country Road, Riverhead. Vehicle removed by unknown person.

12:26 p.m. Identity Theft, Nadel Drive, Riverhead. Possible identity theft reported.

12:53 p.m. Disturbance, Ok Petrol, East Main Street, Riverhead. A person was advised to leave the area.

3:32 p.m. Town Code Violation, West Main Street, Riverhead. A Town Code Violation Summons Issued. The violation was not specified in the report.

2:39 p.m. Property Lost or Stolen, Calverton Post Office, Middle Country Road, Calverton. USPS incident.

6:02 p.m. Arrest for Prior Reported Incident, Tong Fu, Old Country Road, Riverhead. Louis Pagano, 39, of Shirley, was arrested on two charges of petit larceny in connection with a prior incident.

9:40 p.m. Driving Under the Influence, Cross River Drive, Aquebogue. Edmund Gomez Munoz, 25, of Riverhead, was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

11:08 p.m. Domestic Incident, 221 East Main Street, Riverhead. Police report domestic incident. Paul Sacci, 42, of Riverhead was arrested on a charge of criminal contempt.

Saturday, Feb. 1

12:17 a.m. Disturbance, Domino’s Pizza, Old Country Road, Riverhead.

2:07 a.m. Disturbance, Peconic Bay Medical Center, Heroes Way, Riverhead.

3:55 a.m. Domestic Incident, Northern Parkway, Riverhead. A domestic dispute between a husband and wife was reported.

9:12 a.m. Disturbance, 7-Eleven, West Main Street, Riverhead.

4:43 p.m. Confiscated Plates, West Main Street, Riverhead. Plates were confiscated at the location.
