Three people were injured when a Suffolk County Transit bus and a Montauk Bus Co. mini school bus collided at the intersection of Northville Turnpike and Doctors Path Wednesday afternoon, Riverhead Police said in a press release.
The county bus was eastbound on Doctors Path and the school bus was northbound on Northville Turnpike when the two buses collided at about 3:15 p.m., police said. The county bus overturned as a result of the crash, according to the report.

The mini school bus was carrying a driver, one child passenger and two bus attendants and the transit bus had a driver and one adult passenger, police said.
Riverhead Fire Department responded and extricated the adult passenger from the overturned transit bus, police said.
The child passenger, the school bus driver and the county bus passenger were transported by ambulance to Peconic Bay Medical Center for non-life
threatening injuries, according to the press release.
Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Flanders Northampton Ambulance and Mattituck Fire Department ambulance responded to treat and transport the three patients, police said.
Riverhead Police ask anyone who witnessed the accident to call the police department at (631) 727-4500. All calls will be kept confidential, police said.
