A protester holds a "Stop ICE' sign at an anti-ICE protest in Riverhead Jan. 31. RiverheadLOCAL/Denise Civiletti

A “Vigil for Justice”  and an “ICE Out Protest Party” are planned in Riverhead this weekend.

The first event, a “shine a light” vigil, is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 27, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Town Hall, 4 W. 2nd St. Participants are asked to bring a flashlight or candle.

A second event — billed as an “ICE Out protest party” — is set for Saturday, Feb. 28, from noon to 2 p.m., also at Town Hall. The gathering is promoted as a community event with coffee and donuts, followed by a march. Organizers are expected to move from Town Hall toward Roanoke Avenue for added visibility.
