Christopher J. Steiner of North Babylon died July 9, 2026. He was 39 years old.
Born July 7, 1987, in Southampton, he was the youngest of three children of Jack and Laurie Steiner. He attended Southold High School and graduated in 2005. He began his career as an electrician and later worked for Liberty Utilities as a maintenance mechanic. He earned his operator’s license and spent seven years in the Merrick production department.
He enjoyed traveling, hiking and skiing, watching sunsets, and spending summers at the beach. He was also passionate about two-wheeled activities, including downhill mountain biking, motorcycle rides and spending time at his favorite racetrack. His family said he especially enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews and his dog, Kai.
He is survived by his grandmother, Lucille Zuhoski; his parents, Jack and Laurie; and his brothers, Mark (Kelly) and Brian (Chris).
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 15, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Ostrabrama Church in Cutchogue.
Memorial donations may be made to the North Fork Animal Welfare League.
Arrangements were entrusted to DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Southold.
