Bow-hunting

The annual lottery for the upcoming bow-hunting season for deer will be held at Riverhead Town Hall on Sept. 18, at 6:30 p.m. Rundown of actions taken at the Sept. 3 Town Board meeting.

Members of the public visiting Veterans Memorial Park and the EPCAL site are advised by the Town of Riverhead to stay on the recreation trail and off the runways at all times and to stay out of the woods, where town-authorized bow-hunting for deer is now underway.

The annual lottery for the upcoming bow-hunting season for deer will be held at Riverhead Town Hall on Monday evening at 6 p.m.

The 2020 bow-hunting lottery will take place Thursday, Sept. 17. Applications are now being accepted.

The lottery takes place Monday, Sept. 23 at 6 p.m. at Riverhead Town Hall and is open to Riverhead Town residents and real property owners only.

Riverhead Town has scheduled its annual lottery for bow-hunting permits on certain town-owned lands for 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at Riverhead Town Hall.

Bow hunters must be residents or property owners of the Town of Riverhead and must be present at the bow hunting lottery to get a permit.

Riverhead Town will hold a lottery Monday evening for permits to hunt on certain town-owned lands during archery season for deer.

State deer hunting rules changed to allow bowhunting through Jan 31 in Suffolk and add weekends to deer special January firearms season.

The state DEC has designated 461 of the Wading River park's 772 acres for archery-only deer hunting this season, which runs through Dec. 31.
