Riverhead Town will hold a lottery for bow-hunting permits on certain town-owned properties Monday, Sept. 26 at 6 p.m. at Riverhead Town Hall, the town’s wildlife management committee announced.
Interested persons must attend the lottery and bring photo ID and a valid hunting license to participate in the lottery. The lottery is open to Town of Riverhead residents and property owners only.
The archery season for deer in Suffolk County runs from Oct. 1 through Jan. 31 this year. The special firearms season takes place in Suffolk in January.
