Riverhead Town Highway Department finished construction on the new sidewalks this week, located on the north side of Main Road in the heart of Jamesport's business district.

Horton Avenue between Sound and Reeves avenues will be closed for paving until about noon and Sound Avenue between Northville Turnpike and West Lane will be closed to traffic in both directions from noon until about 2 p.m., Highway Superintendent George Woodson said.

Highway Superintendent George Woodson’s dispute with the town board over taking over as “highways by use” private roads in Baiting Hollow has expanded into a dispute over responsibility for the highway chief’s legal fees.
